Stewart

Venicia L. Stewart is a Program Manager at Tulane University with more than 25 years of administrative and operational leadership experience, including over 15 years supporting academic medicine and research environments. Since joining Tulane in 2019, Venicia has earned two promotions in recognition of her strong leadership, operational expertise, and ability to manage complex programs within highly regulated academic settings.

In her current role as Program Manager for the Tulane Center for Airborne Infection and Transmission Science and the Tulane Infectious Disease Aerobiology program within the Division of Microbiology, Venicia oversees daily administrative operations that support faculty, researchers, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows. Her responsibilities include coordinating program activities, assisting with grants administration, managing budgets and financial reconciliation, organizing travel and procurement, and ensuring accurate data reporting and compliance with institutional requirements.

Venicia also supports academic milestones by coordinating scheduling and administrative processes for trainees and research staff. Venicia is recognized for its diligence, discretion, and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced research environments. Her strengths include program administration, financial oversight, compliance management, project coordination, and operational leadership, all of which contribute to the efficient functioning of multidisciplinary research programs.

In addition to her professional role, Venicia actively contributes to leadership and service initiatives across the university. She serves on the Staff Advocacy, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (SAIDE) Staff Retention and Advancement Subcommittee, has participated in the Staff Advisory Council Elections Committee, and previously served as Social Media Director for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Tulane SOPA Chapter. Venicia has also supported mentorship and networking initiatives through the Tulane Black Women’s Collective.

Venicia is currently completing dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Digital Media and Marketing Communications and Health and Wellness at Tulane University, with an anticipated graduation in 2026. Her academic achievements include induction into the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society and the National Society of Leadership and Success, as well as participation in the Tulane University Leadership Institute Emerging Leaders Program. Venicia is also a recipient of the Osher Re-entry Scholarship and multiple Tulane University Academic Scholarships.

Through her combination of operational leadership, academic engagement, and institutional service, Venicia continues to play a vital role in supporting Tulane’s mission of advancing research, education, and collaboration.
